HOME & PROPERTY CARE — COST GUIDES, HOW-TOS & TRADE STANDARDS 2026 Edition

About Steelhawk Journal

Steelhawk Journal is an independent publication covering the cost and the craft of maintaining a home in Florida — from clearing a property and remodeling a bathroom to replacing a roof before the next storm season.

Why we exist

Homeowners researching a project online mostly find two things: thin “cost calculator” pages with no real numbers, and contractor sales pages. We try to sit in between — publishing the actual price ranges, the reasons a quote comes in high or low, and the questions worth asking before you sign anything.

Every guide is written for Florida conditions specifically. Humidity, UV, sandy soil, slab construction, hurricane code and the state’s insurance climate all change what a project costs and how it should be done, and national averages often miss that.

How our guides are produced

Coverage areas

Our local guidance is focused on the Treasure Coast and Central Florida — Port St. Lucie, Fort Pierce, Vero Beach, Stuart, Palm Beach County, Orlando and Gainesville — though the cost guides apply across the state.

Who publishes Steelhawk

Steelhawk Journal is produced and maintained by AI Advantaged, a Florida web agency that builds and hosts sites for home-service companies. The agency has no input on which contractors a guide names or how a cost range is reported — that stays with the editors.

Corrections and accuracy

We do not publish fabricated reviews or invented testimonials. Cost figures are presented as ranges because real projects vary. If you spot a number that looks off or out of date, tell us — corrections are welcome at contact@lvsteelhawks.com.
